Getting to know your instructor:
Jerry Cornish, known by his students as Mr. Jerry. He began private lesson began at age 10.
Mr. Jerry knew that music would be a significant part of his life when “I performed at my 6th grade elementary school graduation ceremony. (I have been a) church musician since high school, accompanying singing groups, playing the worship services and solos.
Mr. Jerry received his bachelors of Music Education with emphasis on piano at the Phillips University and graduate studies in music at SMU.
Mr. Jerry’s is “emphasis on fundamentals of technic, rhythm, notation and musicianship. This is the surest foundation to build advanced skills upon. Students are encouraged to also play by ear. A strong grasp on music theory is essential for all well rounded pianists. Daily practice pattern is important.”
