Getting to know your instructor:
Ellisha Harcourt, known by her students as Miss Ellisha. She began taking piano lessons at age 5 but was not really serious about it until age 14. “I am so glad my parents made me stick with it. I would have quit long before I reached the point that I was really enjoying it”.
“Classical concerts and recitals have always been an inspiration to me. Hearing and seeing musicians perform with excellence motivates me to aim for the same”.
Miss Ellisha began her study of the love for music at the age of 5. She has been teaching private piano and flute lessons since 2000 and has enjoyed teaching students of all ages. In 2008, she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University. Over the years, Ellisha has enjoyed serving in her local church, doing special music and congregational accompaniment. In 2009, she had the privilege of teaching music at a private preschool in South Carolina. Combining her love for people and for music, teaching proves to be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for Ellisha. She and her husband reside in Garland, Texas.
Miss Ellisha’s philosophy is “I aim to make my teaching as fun and motivational as possible. However, learning any new skill requires hard work and dedication. I expect my students to practice regularly, attend lessons and be willing to perform in recitals and competitions. I aspire to have my students play musically, as well as understand music theory.”
