Guitar Lessons

To serve our rockers, rollers, and other many diverse guitar students, our Rockwall guitar lessons are offered in acoustic and electric guitar as well as bass guitar. Students may choose to study a variety of techniques and musical styles, including classical, folk, rock, blues, jazz, pop, metal, country, gospel, and contemporary Christian. Whatever a student’s musical goals, our qualified and experienced guitar teachers will customize guitar lessons to each student’s needs while simultaneously helping them to develop specific musical knowledge and skills appropriate to their level of development as a musician.

When are Guitar Lessons Offered?

During the school year, Private Guitar Lessons are offered:

Monday – Thursday from 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM,
Friday from 1:00 PM – 6:30 PM,
Saturday from 8:30AM – 2PM and
Sunday afternoon from 2:00-6:00PM.

For younger students, ages 5 and 6, we recommend starting with ukulele before transitioning to guitar. Older students ages 7 and up are a perfect age to begin private lessons.

INSTRUMENTS

Investing in a quality instrument is an important element in a student’s success. This will make the learning process more enjoyable. If you already have an instrument, please make sure it is in good repair. Guitar students can schedule an evaluation of their instrument with one of our instructors. A nominal fee may apply to repairs and maintenance on instruments. Sometimes minor adjustments can make a world of difference in the way an instrument plays. Student-size guitars may also be rented from the Rockwall School of Music, based on availability, for an additional $20/month.

My daughter has been with Ms. Nene for about 2 months now. She is so patient.... makes learning piano very fun for a 5 year old. I recommend Ms. Nene to any 5+ year old mom! She has been so wonderful. The school itself is great- very clean, high security, and the ladies in the front always know what's going on. I think this is probably one of the best places for kids to learn any instrument. I hear the instructions for the other instruments, while im waiting outside- and I'm always so impressed by the teachers.

The Rockwall School of Music is awesome! I have 3 kids in it with each learning a different instrument. We have worked with numerous teachers including our permanent teacher and other make-up teachers. We have been very pleased with their knowledge of music theory and the instruments themselves.
