Private Music Lessons Rockwall

To serve our rockers, rollers, and other diverse guitar/ukulele students, Rockwall School of Music offers acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, as well as ukulele lessons. Students may choose to study a variety of techniques and musical styles, including classical, folk, rock, blues, jazz, pop, metal, country, gospel, and contemporary Christian. Whatever a student’s musical goals, our qualified and experienced teachers will customize lessons to each student’s needs while simultaneously helping them to develop specific musical knowledge and skills appropriate to their level of development as a musician.

When are Guitar Lessons Offered?

Monday - Thursday
1:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Friday
10:00 am - 6:30 pm
Saturday
8:30 am - 2:00 pm
Sunday
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
For younger students, ages 5 and 6, we recommend starting with ukulele before transitioning to guitar. Older students ages 7 and up are a perfect age to begin private lessons.

Guitar Lesson FAQ

Do I need my own guitar before starting lessons?
It’s best if you do, but you don’t need a high-end instrument to begin. A basic, properly set-up guitar is more than enough. If you’re unsure what to buy, we’ll help you choose something that fits your budget and goals.
Are lessons for beginners or more experienced players?
Both. We teach people picking up a guitar for the first time and players who want to improve technique, timing, or tone. Your lessons move at your pace, not anyone else’s.
Do you teach acoustic and electric guitar?
Yes. We teach both. If you’re deciding between the two, we can talk through the differences and help you choose what matches how you want to play.
How often should I take lessons?
Most students do best with one lesson per week. That keeps progress steady without feeling like another chore. Some students come more often, some less. We’ll help you find what works.
Instrument Rental
Investing in a quality instrument is an important element in a student’s success. This will make the learning process more enjoyable. If you already have an instrument, please make sure it is in good repair. Students can schedule an evaluation of their instrument with one of our instructors. A nominal fee may apply to repairs and maintenance on instruments. Sometimes minor adjustments can make a world of difference in the way an instrument sounds and plays. Student-size guitars may also be rented from the Rockwall School of Music, based on availability, for an additional $25/month.
