Drums

Gaining an understanding of rhythm, meter, and timing is a key element to becoming a masterful musician. Learning to play a rhythm instrument can be an important addition to any music student’s base of knowledge and ultimately help them to become an all-around better performer.

Drum lessons can mean a variety of things. Some students study the drum set, others study percussion instruments, and still others are learning how to play a variety of hand drums from around the world. Our knowledgeable teaching staff is prepared to help all different types of students achieve their musical goals.

When are Drum Lessons Offered?

During the school year, Private Drum Lessons are offered:

Monday – Thursday from 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Friday from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Saturday from 8:30 AM – 2PM
Sunday from 2PM – 6PM

Lessons are offered for children 1st Grade and above.

INSTRUMENTS

Investing in a quality instrument is an important element in a student’s success. This will make the learning process more enjoyable. Percussion students’ instruments and materials will vary based on what type of lesson they are taking. Talk to your instructor at your first lesson about what they recommend for you.

My daughter has been with Ms. Nene for about 2 months now. She is so patient.... makes learning piano very fun for a 5 year old. I recommend Ms. Nene to any 5+ year old mom! She has been so wonderful. The school itself is great- very clean, high security, and the ladies in the front always know what's going on. I think this is probably one of the best places for kids to learn any instrument. I hear the instructions for the other instruments, while im waiting outside- and I'm always so impressed by the teachers.

The Rockwall School of Music is awesome! I have 3 kids in it with each learning a different instrument. We have worked with numerous teachers including our permanent teacher and other make-up teachers. We have been very pleased with their knowledge of music theory and the instruments themselves.
